Service requirements:
The applicant for the above certificate shall fill the template for obtaining a translator license.
The Translation Department at the Ministry of Justice shall be provided with a (certified copy of the academic qualifications, three photographs, copy of the I.D and a no conviction certificate.
The Ministry of Justice shall fix a date for the written test to be followed by the oral and shall publish it on the ministry’s webpage.
After the successful completion of both tests, the applicant shall submit to the department a receipt voucher for JOD 50 and a copy of his seal to include (his name, translation language, the license number and the phrase ‘licensed translator by the Minister of Justice).
Subsequently, a date is fixed for swearing the oath before the Minister of Justice and the candidate is given the translation license which is valid for one year and renewable annually.
The translator’s name is then included in the list of accredited translators.
